Reliance Industries, the country's largest company, has made significant announcements in this direction amidst the global upsurge in 5G technology in the telecom sector. Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani told the company's 43rd annual general meeting that Reliance Jio has prepared a 5G solution based on complete Indian technology. As soon as the government allocates 5G spectrum, the company will start its trial. Ambani also informed about Rs 33,737 crore investment by world-renowned tech firm Google in Reliance's digital firm Jio Platform. With the goal of creating a '2G free India', Reliance has also announced to make cheap smartphones with Google. Tech firms like Facebook, Qualcomm, Intel have already made major investments in Jio platforms. Mukesh Ambani said that the first Made in India 5G technology is ready for trial and by next year it will beCan be landed on the ground.
Dedicating it to PM Narendra Modi's 'Self-reliant India' vision, Ambani said that there is a readiness to extend this 5G service in India to other countries of the world. Company's existing 4G customers in the country Will convert into 5G service.
With the introduction of Jio's 5G technology, India will be among the few countries where the company can provide 5G service. Jio's 5G service can prove to be a massive change in this sector.
